It does matter. When security flaws are discovered and exploited, there won't be any patches to repair them. Windows XP will slowly become an unusable operating system when used online.

I use Windows XP myself, and - believe it or not - it doesn't matter whether Windows XP is supported or not. I never use Internet Explorer (I use Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome), and I use virus protection and firewalls (like "Avast!") that have nothing to do with Microsoft. I suggest you do the same. Microsoft doesn't specialize in system security, anyway; you should use programs from companies who do.

Hope that helps. :-)
