It's formatted to the same 800 pixel width used throughout the site. It flows better on the other boards with longer descriptions.
Shouldn't the "Welcome to the Message Board" text align to center? It looks lop-sided at my res; other boards (especially Misc.) probably look the same way on a wider screen.
