I don't see why current consoles wouldn't be emulated someday. As they grow more PC-like I imagine they'd be easier to emulate. Even if a console did require an internet connection you could still emulate it, connection and all.

It never occurred to me years ago that there would be PS2 emulation. Shows how far I think ahead. lol With new systems and online updates and yadda yadda yadda do you think PS4/XBOXONE generations will be the last emulated systems in some years? XBOXONE nearly went online all the time, but as we all already know that changed. What will happen for the next generation? Just throwing some thoughts around.
