Sadly, virus protection slows down the game, too. What I do is disconnect the internet connection, disable the virus protection, and then run the game. This does prevent you from running multi-player gaming, though.

that will give you a work around for game issues. also, you can go under the guides tab and look up performance to change some settings around. hope that helps you out. A side note, kill things that are running the background that you don't need. That crap will slow your emulation down.
