How to use an emulator

Download an emulator from the Emulation Lair.

Run the file you downloaded. A text display will pop up followed by an unzip prompt.

Unzip all files to a location of your choice, or use the default location (recommended).

Run the emulator!

Most emulators have instructions included with them, usually in the form of a readme.txt or some other .txt file. Most questions about how to use the emulator are answered there. Please read this document first before posting a message on the Message Board.

How to play a game

All games can be run with any of their respective emulators from the Emulation Lair. Here's how to play them.

Download an emulator. Please refer to "How to use an emulator" above for more details.

Download a game.

Unzip the game, usually to the same location as your emulator(s). If you don't have a program that can unzip files you can download a free trial version of WinZip here.

Run your emulator of choice.

Load the game! If you cannot figure out how to do this, please read the emulator's instructions.

Please keep in mind that emulators are not perfect and will not run every game. If a game will not work correctly with your favorite emulator, please try it with another emulator. Nearly all games in The Vault will work perfectly with one or more emulators from the Emulation Lair.
