If you are a huge Gojira fan then you might notice there aren't a lot of games made about him, this is one of the very few that made it to the United States and it is quite good considering.

Graphics: 7
The top down graphics you move your character in are very plain and not detailed at all, however the battle and "action" graphics look very pleasing to the eye.

Sound: 7
First off, it's the Godzilla theme, which I am led to think everyone likes. The actual sound effects are really just average, not sounding too good, but not horrible.

Gameplay: 8
This was always a weird game when it comes down to gameplay. You control Godzilla through some sort of monster controlling device from the top down perspective. In each mission you have to make your way to the evil monster, but in-between are obstacles. Building will have to be torn down, electrical wires will have to be ripped apart, military tanks crushed. Doing all of that however hurts you, so a path must be thought out. The monster fighting portion plays out like street fighter only with an energy buildup bar at the bottom that determines your moves power. It's a nice twist.

Overall: 8
This is one of the better Godzilla games, with good graphics, okay sound, and inventive gameplay you maybe find yourself quite addicted to it for a long time, I know I was.

Obviously you might not like Gojira, so you might not like this game as much as me. But also, maybe the game might make you get into Godzilla more, which is a long road to travel for a dedicated fan.

Super Godzilla: What can be said? A legendary game, even though few have played it, let alone know it exists. Here's why it is legendary.

It was developed by Toho for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). This game actually had some significance to the latest Godzilla movie (at the time). (More on this in the additional comments/closing.)

Graphics: 10
Pretty darn good, considering this was made back when it wasn't really known what the SNES was capable of. All the monsters (and people, although they can just die and burn. The monsters are the best) look spectacular. The attack animations are pretty good too.

Sound: 10
Probably one of the best things about the game. All the music is ORIGINAL. None of that constantly revised junk we hear in every other game. Every monster had their own theme. I personally liked Mecha-King Ghidorah and Bagan's best. They also had their unique roars from the movies.

Gameplay: 8
The gameplay is another matter. It was a unique and original idea, kind of crazy, but original. Trust me the gameplay isn't too hard once you get used to it. It takes time to adjust. Once you get used to it, it's actually pretty fun.

A great game. It is fun once you get used to it, although it's kind of short and it can be rather frustrating in difficulty sometimes. It's a real shame Bagan hasn't made any other appearances. I'd like to see him on a multi-player Godzilla fighting game for GameCube as an unlockable character. Super Godzilla too. .. Oh come on, it would be a great idea!

Originally, the game was to serve as a sneak peak for Godzilla fans on the plot of the upcoming Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Bagan. Now as time went on, they decided to change the film to Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla. So Bagan (for a 2nd time) was scrapped. The Super Godzilla suit was modified to become the Space Godzilla Suit. Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla is one of the cheesiest Godzilla films, though I much rather have had Bagan and Super G instead of Moguera and Space Godzilla. All the details of the movie were never released. It was never confirmed if any other monster other than Bagan would appear in it. The game featured a few monsters, but it would be a dull game if there was only one monster to face now wouldn't it? Bagan was also supposed to appear in another film 20 years earlier but got canned as well. Bagan has not been brought up again for a long time. I personally think he is one of the sweetest Kaiju (Japanese word for monster) in the Godzilla universe and deserves a shot in a Godzilla movie. But after the release of FINAL WARS, no new movies are gonna be made for a few years now, so we can just sit and hope.
