This is quite simply my favorite NES game of all time. The historical aspect of the game, as well as the characters and their roles in the game and in real life are uncanny.

Graphics: 7
While definitely not a ground breaking game as far as graphics go, they are clean and clear. I would have liked to see some other backgrounds in the battle screens, or maybe something different backgrounds in some of the different caves.

Sound: 9
The music while you are stuck in some of the dungeons can get annoying, and, in my opinion, the best music in the game (in the opening village and the opening game screens) is not played enough. However, that opening score is one of my favorite old NES game sounds ever.

Gameplay: 9
Very easy to figure out right out of the box for anyone that has played any RPG. The only thing that is difficult to figure out is what each tactic is supposed to do as they are in Chinese. If I ever meet anyone that speaks the language and they ever say the phrase An Sha I will know know they want to remove my head...

Overall: 10
Overall my favorite NES game ever, the replay value is pretty good also because of all of the hundreds of characters you can play.

A "must play" according to this reviewer, try to beat the game with a tactic oriented team, or just a bunch of brutes...it is up to you
