Resident Evil 2 for the Playstation is an absolute classic survival horror masterpiece and is a direct sequel to Resident Evil on the same console. A viral outbreak has occurred in the outskirts of Racoon City is pretty much all the premise you need to know for this one. Just a quick side note I'll be referring to the Original Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 games as og re1, og re2 and og re3. Let's begin!

Graphics: 8
Well there's not much I can say about the graphics of og re2, it was a PS1 game in the 90's (that mean's a lot of polygons)! But don't let that hold you back, og re2 and the classic trilogy itself has a very unique style to them, you'll be drawn to the RPD station hallways infested with Zombies and other dangers lurking in the shadows. Graphics, as I stated earlier aren't really great (at least by today's standards) but the atmosphere, gameplay and everything else makes up for it.

Sound: 9
The sound in og re2 is amazing, you know how in certain games your brain has a certain sound associated with certain actions? Well og re2 is full of them, wanna feel like an absolute badass zombie killing machine? Grab that good old shotgun and go to town. The soundtrack in og re2 is nothing short of great, the save room theme of og re2 is such an iconic piece of work that when you listen to it it's as if the game is telling you "you're safe in here, but you can only be in here for so long". Characters themes, credits themes, all of it! og re2 has it on lock down, you'll be sure to save some songs on to your playlist for them rainy days.

Gameplay: 9
The gameplay is just like it's prequel, tank controls, limited saving, tight and narrow hallways (although not as tight this time around, og re2 gives you a bit more leeway) limited inventory. The game does give you many more weapons as you play compared to og re1, there's no auto aim but that's never really too much of an issue...most of the time, just give yourself a good distance and you'll be fine.

Overall: 10
This game took everything great about og re1 and added to it, I think og re2 really could go down as one of the greatest sequels in a game, I think it's a must for both PSX fans and Survival Horror Fans alike. If you're looking for a genuinely good survival horror with a crap ton of replay ability, this games is for you, 100%.

Nothing much left to say, I'm just a gamer with a passion and I sincerely hope this review of mine's encouraged someone out there to check this game out, and Ultimately, more of the series. Have a good day.
