If a game wasn't that big for PS2, they'd be shipped on CDs and not DVDs. CDs use this bin format, so it's nothing to worry about.
I usually extract ps2 games with 7z, after that I got a bin file. The game is NBA Street, did anything change? I didn't get an iso file after the extraction.
