Re: Selective download for big files

Interesting. Many large games are "hybrid" discs that include a Blu-ray movie with the game. Deleting the movie would make the download much smaller, and this could be an option for all hybrid discs.
I would like to make a suggestion for the Vimm's staff. Why don't you guys implement a selective download feature for the bigger files you have here, like the PS3 games?
I was looking at some smaller versions available in other sites, of titles like God of War: Ascension, and they were half the size of the download available here. I think everybody would benefit from a selective download here because the stress on the servers would decrease considerably and each download would be faster for the users too.
For instance, a title like God of War III could get a basic download with all essential features, and then make available each of the "deleted" files separately, if anyone wants to download them too. Files like the "Bonus Making Of" videos or the audio files of each language could be removed from the basic download, making it 17 GB smaller in God of War III's case. Obviously, the complete version would also be there for those who want to archive it.
You could try it with a few popular downloads and see if it works. Just a suggestion to try and help the community.
