Finally resolved the issue, by changing the render method. The FPS dips a little, but there isn't any random compression.
I figured I should put this here in case anyone else runs into the same issue i had.
The sound quality in superstar saga will randomly dip and become super compressed for a few seconds, then raise back up again. It's very distracting.
I'm using the VBA emulator, I have frame skips on 0, I have the sound on 44khz, and I've tried lowering the volume, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. This is the only game I've experienced this issue with.
Could anyone help?
