Tamper monkey and grease monkey are both completely safe, though I do believe people could use it to make it unsafe. That won't happen if you don't download those scripts though, so if you download legit scripts and just follow the instructions you'll have no problems. Emuparadise is probably the only site I'd say you should trust, though.
I'm not sure about coolroms, I don't know know about the work-around script for emuparadise since maybe the tamper monkey/grease monkey is safe or not, so any other rom sites?
