PS2 emulators will not play PS1 ROMs, they're made to emulate the system it's advertised for.

If it's the official site, then the latest download. I haven't downloaded 7zip for a while so if there's some sort of stable and experimental version, download the stable one.

BIOS files are for systems, games do not have a BIOS. BIOS files are not necessary for emulation unless the emulator specifically states you need it, like Citra and PCSX2.

Although, I think certain games work better when you have an actual BIOS downloaded. I'm not sure on that, so I think you'd have to do more research on that.

Hi there guys! I am new here, a 90's kid with strong nostalgia for PS1, PS2, Nintendo 64, and Gameboy/Gameboy Color games. I'm new to emulators and roms in general, and I know I need to be really careful so to be honest a lot of this stuff scares me. I have a bunch of questions though.

Will PS2 emulators play PS1 roms, just like PS2 consoles are able to play PS1 games or are they exclusive?

Which version of 7zip on their site is best to download?

What are BIOs for games, do we need these for any of the games here, and if so where do I find safe ones?

I really hope this works, because I would love to play these games again.
