No, you should not have set it to pause when inactive. You want them to continue playing when inactive

I did everything exactly how it should be. I only have pokemon firered installed, so I couldn't be doing it with a different game. I set both of them to pause when inactive, but i could still see both playing at the same time, and both had the pokemon center theme playing at the same time. I'll download what you sent me
