Modding is let daunting than you may realize ... I have a slim too and watching the MrMario Youtube vids talk you through all the steps.
You can use Ps3hen too if you don't want to jailbreak it but jailbreaking is recommnded over Hen from what Ive read if your console is compatible. I'm glad i did mine ... so i did my wii shortly after it which lead me to here ...
