The wiki mentions that it's at a 3 star rating in some earlier versions, so I'd check to see if you have a more recent version installed.
Also make sure you don't have virtual overclocking installed and if your specs are good enough. I saw someone in a thread say virtual overclocking brought in problems.

Hello, i dont know if its the game doing this or if its my dolphin emulator but every time i go into the game and when i play an event the game freezes and crashes, ive redownloaded it twice now and same problem.
