Would expect it to work better with actual hardware, especially if it's a DS game on a 3DS, a superior system.
I play the same game on my laptop, with the Desmume DS emulator.
TWEWY runs pretty iffy with Desmume, but still works.

I am using the Twilight Menu+ on my New 3DS XL. Every other DS game I play works fine. It's actual hardware. Not emulation.
