.nkit and .iso problems with wii

hey so i downloaded a gc game and when i unzipped it turned into a .nkit file instead of a iso one. im 100% doing something wrong but dont know what. i also downloaded the nkit app thing and tried to turn the file back into a .iso file but it stayed in disk format.... PLZ HELP!!
