Ah, Street 2. Great memories. Not sure what platform you're running this on, sounds like PS2 version may have more issues than the Gamecube version? Just what I got from skimming Google results for a minute.
I wonder if it has anything to do with all the announcer/music tracks -- you might even try switching one or both off in the settings and see if that helps anything, though obviously you're missing a real chunk of the game that way. Otherwise I'd Google for solutions and/or try other versions of the game. Good luck.

I keep having frame drops whenever i get past the loading screens and actually in the game. Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this?
