Assuming everything has been setup properly (by following Wii Guide(1) or ModMii(2), do **NOT** use a video guide), you can use NeoGamma for your backup loading, though I do not believe it will be as simple as drag and drop onto your USB. Its been a while since I last used NG, but I believe it only supports WBFS filesystems(3), so you will need to use a special tool for adding and removing your wii games. Additionally, to quote masterdeluxe247 on whether or not you can USB load GC games, "no"(4).

So, if you are absolutely set on using NeoGamma for your wii games, it *will* work. There is nothing wrong with using it, but newer and (IMO) better solutions exist. Looking at a USBLoader comparison chart(5) shows that WiiFlow and USB LoaderGX can both do what NeoGamma does, but better. Like NG, both support using WBFS filesystem, but *unlike* NG, both allow you to use FAT or NTFS as well. This will allow games to be added with a simple drag-n-drop instead of using a dedicated tool, and will allow you to store more than just wii games on the drive. Additionally, both WF and ULGX allow for GameCube games to be launched, which is something NG cannot do.

Also, I know you didn't as about this, but you may want to consider using a hard drive instead of a flash drive for your game storage. In the early days, flash drives were strongly discourages as apparently there were compatibility issues and the wii had a tendency of chewing through them. Now, this is wisdom from long ago, so it is quite likely things have changed over the years (flash chips have become more reliable, homebrew development has improved, etc.), but if you have the time I would do a bit of research. Also, you max out a FAT filesystem's storage with a traditional spinning disk hard drive for relatively cheap ($50 for 2tb Seagate drive + $30 for an enclosure), while getting large flash drives is an expensive gamble (~$50 for the cheaper SanDisk 512gb usb drive, with no guarantee on how long the flash chips will last)

I have homebrew and neogamma R9 / 56 on my wii. Is that all I need to play unzipped wii/GC games that are moved to a usb flash drive?
Thank you.
