Now that you mention it, I wonder if limited memory must be the issue why they couldn't release this game to English at the time? the Game Boy version was released in English instead probably had more memory than the Nes? or another case must be the popularity of the handheld at the time?

I haven't tried it yet but I had this issue! it won't play on Nestopia and only Mesen for me. I'll try changing the sav to srm and see if that works! Thanks for telling us!
