Re: does anyone know what PS3_Extra Files on disc

It's any extra content a game might include. Trailer and demos are extra content, but so are themes, icons and DLC. Sometimes the game will make a second icon on the XMB for this content.

so after noticing the hybrid game discs you can simply remove the movie folder next to the games an runs fine without. i noticed a ton of games have a PS3_EXTRA folder next to the games just like with the movies. sadly most games with them are currently unplayable in rpcs3 to test. but the view that are playable, if you delete the PS3_EXtra files then the games run perfectly fine from start to finish without any issue. i was worried that they may of been like how the ps4 has duplicate files because it actually cant run games well cause of the slow drive it uses. as example god of war ascension PS3_Extra file im 99% sure just has some clips of other games and a lil demo of a game an no actual game data but im unsure
