Re: Win Modem

I usually take backup pretty seriously, but a couple of bad batches of discs delayed my archiving project and now it's really gotten away from me.

It'd be nice to have a large external USB HDD to mirror files on, but I've read they're not as reliable as one would hope so I wouldn't want it to be the only place a file is stored. Same goes for USB sticks; two of mine have stopped being recognized by Windows.

Normally I'd use DVD+RWs for temporary backup; right now they're all full. But I just got a fresh 100-count cake box of -Rs, so the archiving project is back in progress.

In all honesty, you shouldn't hesitate to make regular backups, whether or not a harddisk crash is imminent. The most affordable ways to back up is with simple DVDs, but memory sticks overall take a lot less room.
