USB 3.0 should be backward compatible with 2.0, but it's always worth checking. The one I'm looking at does say that it works with 2.0. Now I just have to work up the nerve to make a transaction on an unsupported OS with no antivirus software installed.

If your machine has USB 2.0 slots or lower, there might be an issue; USB 3.0 is pretty much the standard nowadays. It's not a bad thing for you is you want to stock up on thumb drives and don't mind lack of speed; I picked up a pair of Lexar 64 GB thumb drives, but I paid a lot less for them because they were USB 2.0.
