Re: SNES emulator?

Posted by Tricob on .
I use SNES9x and ZSNES. I tried numerous versions of Higan. Most wouldn't run at all, and the one version that did flat-out refused to do very simple things that both SNES9x and ZSNES have done for years. Not sold on Higan currently, but it's still early in its game. There's mounds of time for it to grow and develop.

If you're looking for emulation accuracy and have a modern machine to run it on, you might want to try Higan. It's a multi-system emulator, and emulates a handful of other consoles such as the NES, Game Boy, etc. (Windows/Mac)

SNES9X isn't as accurate, but it has been around a long time and should run on older machines and use less resources. There is also a port of it for mobile devices, if I'm not mistaken. (Windows/Mac/Linux)

Both emulators are available on this site in the Emulation Lair section. There are many more out there (see www.zophar.net/snes.html) but my personal pick are the two mentioned above.
