You need to assign the buttons to a controller with the emulator's mapping function. It's usually labelled as "input". Emulators will usually only recognise controllers that are connected to the PC before the emulator is opened.
Might just be me being stupid as i am new to these emulators. But i downloaded the VBA-M and are trying to play pokemon ruby. I can get the game running, but cant seem to find a way to control the game, so i cant get any further than the start screen. Please help.
