Trying out Sonic and The Secret rings

Just recently I have wanted to play Sonic and the Secret rings again as I feel the experience would be much nicer using an emulated wii remote (ps4 controller) problem is, when I try running the game though dolphin 5.0 it appears to be stuck on a black screen, I have also tried it through Ishiiuka 1099 and 1053 (all on recommended settings for both versions) I'll be met with "Fifo shutting down while active". Any suggestions would be appreciated.
PS: I am getting the file through vimm (Sonic and the Secret Rings (USA) (En,Ja,Fr,De,Es,It).nkit.ios) I would use my own copy of the game, but it's at another house so I would to wait a couple months.
