Yeah as far as I know they can monitor everything you do online unless you use a VPN.
But it isn't in their interest to monitor their customers. Just imagine if Ford started monitoring everyone that drove their vehicles and told people they weren't allowed to drive certain places, they'd start losing money pretty quickly, I bet

I'm pretty sure all types of downloads can be monitored by your ISP. If you do get an email from them, then it goes to show they have no respect for privacy and you should definitely switch. So far, I haven't gotten anything and I'm good.
