This backup project is slow going. Maybe I'm just
too picky, but even among the top brands (all 2 of them) it's still tough to find a
disc that doesn't have blemishes or other irregularities. Worse for me is that by the time I've found a disc
that passes visual inspection, invariably some piece of lint from my hands has bonded to it through static electricity.

Then what, put the disc in the DVD drive and hope that the fibers are dislodged by the high-speed rotation, yet don't
end up on the lens? It's probably better than trying to ffff away the lint and accidentally spitting on the disc.

Gotta get an air compressor. Some lint-free hand towels. And a cleanroom.

Nope, a practical and sure-fire backup solution just doesn't exist yet.
They'll work it out someday, though. I just know they will.
It's the way of the future. The way of the future.
