| I just wanted to make a short review on this game because it's a game that deserves one.
Graphics: 7 I've seen many people not have a good reception towards the 3D models of the characters but the low poly DS feel gives me this feeling that I really enjoy. While they look expressionless and aged kind of poorly, I think they look nice and the rest of things in the game look fine as well. Nothing mind-blowing but its good. Sound: 10 I think Sonic Rush EXCELS with its soundtrack. The soundtrack is incredibly catchy, with tracks that have lots of bounce and tons of life filled into them. Every track has its own identity and makes the experience so much more engaging due to the great soundtrack every area has. Seriously, check out the soundtrack for this game it's amazing how well done it is. Gameplay: 5 The gameplay is usually boosting around levels and enjoying the styles of it. While I think the gameplay is alright in satisfying style and looking good, the gameplay that involves actual platforming or maneuvering can be total joy killers. Altitude Limit is downright horrid to play due to either wonky dual screen features or just not being able to see anything in time. Some zones feel too slow or paced awkwardly with random enemy rooms that just exist to waste time. The special stages are fine to play at least but my god the boss battles. The boss battles are pretty bad, having some of the most boring attack cycles with little room to attack said bosses, not only making them infuriating but making them incredibly pace breaking as well. The gameplay can feel like a drag usually but it does have its good share of fun moments scattered about. Overall: 7 While this game excels in a soundtrack and graphics aren't too bad, the gameplay can be a total mood switcher for this game due to unfair crap or just bad design in it. I do think this game should be checked out however I will say it won't be the most fun experience. Listen to the soundtrack though, its amazing. Nothing much to add but the gameplay can fluctuate with people. I personally didn't enjoy it much and found parts to be slogs, especially Altitude Limit. |
