Pac-mania is the latest Pac-Man sequel by Namco, following ""Jr. Pac-man"" and its nowhere-near-as-good predecessor, ""Super Pac-man"". Pac-mania has a 3-D, Zaxxon-like perspective, and you even have a Jump button to jump over ghosts! The arcade game even had background music.

This NES port does too, of course, but for some reason, they ""enhanced"" it, as if the game's original music wouldn't have been good enough. Also, the game is - somehow - harder than the original (just about impossible, in fact) when jumping over certain ghosts in the harder rounds (where the ghosts jump right along with you).

A major plus, though: Music is added to the High Score Charts.

If your computer is fast enough (233+ Mhz), try the arcade ROM instead, as it has better graphics and sound. If not, NES Pac-Mania is probably as good a port as you could hope for.
