7z is a compressed file, similar to a ZIP or RAR file. The software to compress/decompress 7z files can be downloaded for free from the author's site 7-zip.org (or just google it for more options).
k, this is a seperate question, i just noticed the playstation roms i download here dont give me the option to extract them like i do with snes or sega games. it downloads as a 7z document, not sure what that is any suggestions?
