ive never had a 144Hz, ive only ever had 60Hz, i have a crt that i think can go to 85Hz but windows only lets me put it to 60Hz

I guess there are gamer displays.
But seriously 144hz is such a smooth desktop experience that I'd easily recommend it to even non-gamers if it was mainstream.
Now don't get me wrong, 60hz is indeed serviceable but if I had the opinion between that refresh rate and 144hz then I'll always pick the latter personally myself in the end.
