Re: Diamond in the Rough

I use the same core strategy with slight tweaks against each race. I've seen a ton of Zerg lately and the 2-line defense blocks the early baneling rush. If they turbo zergling rush they'll have to knock at the front door while I train a marine, no big deal. It's also an auto-win against the cheese 12-drone rush.

I let my opponents scout for me. Based on when they scout and the direction they come from I can usually guess where their base is, then use a comsat to verify and see what they're building. Most times I can predict an opponent's strategy simply by their scouting behavior.

My Protoss strategy is a just as effective but I haven't found a consistent plan against Terran. Mostly I just play defensively and take advantage of my opponent's blind aggression, which often catches them off guard.

I suppose my strategy is somewhat odd (often generating childish cursing when I win) but it works well for me and I enjoy it. I didn't quite reach Master last season, but maybe this time!

Interesting games.

First thing I noticed in the first game was how your opponent had like 168 APM in the first 2 minutes, clicking on garbage, you made concise commands with like 25 APM. Was funny.

Also liked how your 2 line main defense was set up. If they bust through the sup depot, they have yet another thing to bust through.

The 3 sup depot build before the rax, though- what if the zerg ling rushes?

Also, why don't you scout? Do you just kind of intuitively figure out what they're going?

2 attack 3 def BC's for the win. Zerg has no answer.

In the 2nd game, gotta love your opponent's epic 10 overlord attack onto your turret-laden expo. Then his later 6 overlord drop onto your main, where one overlord almost managed to squeeze a unit out before exploding above a grid of turrets. Brilliant zerg play right there.
