This game is one of the best action RPG's ever made for the NES console. There are amazing graphics for such a small amount of colors, and the animations are quite good for this early of an Nes game. The music on this game was very very good. Not only was it creative and well harmonized, but it fit in very well with the game. It never really got repetitive. The gameplay is terrific. Imagine a sidescrolling zelda, only much more complex. There are spells, hit points, spell points, and probably the first rpg with an extended inventory. Also, this is probably one of the first games which had extra areas and rooms that, while not adding to the plot or being necessary to visit, made the game better. You can play the game 3 times through and not enter half the places you can. I would have loved to see a sequal, but alas, chances are now quite grim for that sort of thing.
