Will 2020 Emulators play Earthbound?

I've heard that Earthbound has many anti-piracy measures such as having more enemies and deleting the same state when you get to the boss. I have no doubt that this is true but people have already figured out this by around 2007. Seeing how this is a thirteen-year gap surely emulators have bypassed/gotten ridden of the anti-piracy measures? Right?
