Bought a Japanese PS1 game to contribute, but...

I was looking at the Missing PS1 games, and I wanted to help contribute. I saw one of the missing games was "O-Chan no Oekaki Logic 2" and I found and purchased a copy from eBay. However, by the time it arrived, someone had already contributed not only the game, but multiple revisions of the game...
There isn't much of a point to this post, but I just wanted to know if anyone else may have experienced this frustration at any point. I'm glad it's there now either way for preservation's sake, but it was still a bit frustrating.
I suppose I may as well ask while I'm here: how do I add the Year to the game's page? Is that something a user can contribute? This game doesn't have its year listed.
