I believe you can actually download your save states. Have you try that? It's just a few kbs file.

What consoles are you emulating online from Vimm's?

I wanted to think, since I use the "Play Online" feature on this website, and when I load my game saved in the browser, it sometimes glitches. Is there a better way to save? Maybe in the pause screen in-game or maybe pause the game with the pause button on the emulator??
