Check for the format then.
If you are emulating Wii on PC using Dolphin, get rvz roms which usually are lighter in size than wbfs (not always, so check first).

Seriously, sometimes the same game will be 900 MB for the rvz file and more than 2 GB for the wbfs, only noticeable differences is that rvz doesn't work on an original Wii console, as far as I know.

For Dolphin either format works the same.
