The wii uses a signing system to prevent you from doing this. It is practically impossible to do this on an unmodified wii. However, modding a wii is extremely easy (esspecially if you have compatible wifi). With a modded wii you can boot rom off a usb or sd card. I highly recommend you follow https://wii.guide/ for this. (Do not use video tutorials)
