Yeah but we got more remasters as a result! Now we're getting a Marvel VS. Capcom collection, Dragon Quest 1-3 HD-2D remakes, and DKC Returns! It's a slow trickle though. It's been 11 years since the last port of Marvel VS. Capcom 2 on consoles and that wasn't even a physical release nor was it a complete Marvel VS. Capcom collection. I'd nab the physical version of the new collection just for preservation sake and because it has rollback online netcode.

There was a study recently that found most gamers are playing games over 6 years old. Video game sale figures of AAA games has been awful lately too. I imagine there is a lot of panic at these game companies. Attacking rom sites is counter productive IMO. Even if I lost access to roms, I still wouldn't purchase the new slop they release today.
