Are you using Xemu or original hardware?
Xemu has issues with save files for that game getting corrupted. You can try deleting your save file and seeing if the game works again. Make sure you're using the latest version of the emulator.

Game worked for a little while with minor audio issues. Tried to play again and I get a white screen when I should see the main menu. Re-downloaded and it's still not working. Tried another game and that worked.
