After having that repeated issue, I decided to get the vanilla dump of the game in this website and reapply the patch with the newest version of Xdelta. It was capable of loading Junon. If anyone has been having this problem, I suggest the same course of action.
I was playing the fan translation with the download available in this website. When I finally got to the point when Cloud rejoins the party, and we must go to Junon, the game doesn't load when entering Junon. I'm not sure whether this is only with me.
