if you want to skip nkit, you could download the wbfs file and use wii backup manager. the only issue is that the download will take longer than nkit.iso
What I do is download the.nkit file, convert it to iso with nkit, then run it through a program called "Wii Backup Manager". It lets me keep the most free space on my hard drive. To use with USB Loader GX, the file must be a .wbfs file and be named the proper name. Wii backup manager does all the hard work for you. I'm not sure about vWii usage, but wbfs through usblaoder should still work.
