Having Problems With Save Files

Hey. I've been having issues with game save files. The games save no problem but whenever I try to restart a game file from my save point, it just restarts the entire game. No matter what game I play: Animal Crossing (managed to hold onto much of a game file with this one but it still restarted from a different point) and The Sims: Bustin' Out will not load from a save at all. I am using Dolphin 5.0 emulator.
