Because it's run by only one person with the only tools that he has.
So while it's okay to complain about downloading speeds and feel ungrateful about it if I were you I'd feel grateful about the fact that this is a ROM site from 24 years ago that's still growing and has many consoles to chose from.
Even Emuparadice didn't last that long (rip)

Why is it when I try to download any wii game it takes hours? I have Gigabit and i am hardwired in. Why does it take so long?
