You know what, I don't blame you.
GBAtemp is a good forum's site, has good genuine gaming discussions and homebrew as well, it also helps that it's a niche so that it avoids the problems that being mainstream simply has.
In addition to GBAtemp I also go on Reddit, now don't get me wrong there are a some problems with it like certain communities and the BS karma system.
But if you follow communities that make you happy/are interested in then it can be a decent time, if anything it's at least a good places for guides/tips.
