Agreed. As long as they have good testing procedures you can't go wrong with crowdsourcing with the points that you have mentioned

well he's trying to get a complete vault, with EVERY retro game for any person in any region to play. crowdsourcing is not only the efficient option but in some ways the only way to obtain games. any concerns with crowdsourcing would be if someone uploads a file with no game in it or maybe some malicious code in the packaging but, i'm sure that the roms are run through testing first. and if one slips through the crevasses, that's not the end of the world. you can post a message about it on the board and there's a high chance it will be removed and replaced with the correct file.
