Re: Compressed file types

The Gamecube vault offers nkit compressed images, as well as ciso, which does not compress but does lower the image size by removing empty space.

The Wii vault offers WBFS, which does not compress but also removes empty space.

The PS3 vault offers JB, which does not compress but removes empty space and unnecessary metadata.

The Xbox vault offers XISO, which does not compress but removes unnecessary data from the video portion of the DVD (normally OG Xbox games, when put in a DVD player, would play a video telling you the disc only works in an Xbox. This is removed in XISO images.)

Im sure i am not the first person to ask this question. Why aren't any of the disc based games stored as compressed file types like .chd, or .rsv files? .iso's use a lot of storage space compared to the compressed file types.
