Re: Is something up with the Nintendo DS Roms?

The file size for DS games should be 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, or, rarely, 256 MB. In the case of Mario Kart DS, 32, and for Super Mario DS, 16. The ones here sound right, being slightly higher, which is easily explained if anything else is in the zips with the rom. Yours sound too low, especially with the different MD5. I wonder if you have bad dumps?

As a fun experiment, I took some Nintendo DS cartridges I had recently bought and extracted the .nds roms to my computer. Then, I compared the roms I extracted myself to the ones on this website, and they're exactly the same except for file size. My cartridge of Mario 64 DS had a 15 megabyte rom in it, while the one on this website is 16.8. I checked the MD5 hash of the files and they were completely different. For Mario Kart DS, my file was 25.6 MB and Vimm's was 33.6 MB. For the sake of slightly reduced bandwith costs, should the website use these lower size files?
